Dear Friends,
The mission of the Friends of the Anglican Centre in Santiago de Compostela states that the Anglican Centre in Santiago will be an ecumenical place that offers hospitality, learning, healing, hope and love.
Spiritual care offered to pilgrims who come to Santiago is at the heart of ministry at Casa Anglicana and San Félix de Solovio (San Fiz). Chaplains are the backbone of our volunteers.
This year 18 clergy – 2 deacons, 15 priests, and one bishop from around the Anglican Communion, have stayed free-of-charge at Casa Anglicana in exchange for taking daily services at San Fiz and speaking with pilgrims at the Casa. All have found it to be a rewarding experience. “Thank you for this opportunity…it has been a time of spiritual renewal for me…especially as a pastor’. Right Reverend Dr. Douglas Sparks, the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana.
Next year, we are looking for chaplains to fill two-week slots from mid-March to mid-November. Clergy in all three orders from around the Anglican Communion or from other protestant denominations are invited to join our team.
If you have at least 100km of the Camino, are a member in good standing of your diocese, and have an up-to-date Safe Church certificate, we invite you to apply to this vital and fulfilling outreach initiative.
For more information about the ministry and to fill out an online application, please see below, or you may print a .pdf HERE and email it to me.
All are welcome to apply. I hope you will too.
